Yana Dimova
PhD student, DistriNet
I’m pursuing a PhD on web privacy at DistriNet, KU Leuven. My interdisciplinary background in computer science and European law allows me to combine both domains for my research. Currently, my work focuses on online tracking, exfiltration of personal data on the web and data protection law. More specifically, I analyze whether websites give privacy-friendly options to users and whether privacy legislation has an impact on their behavior.
Web Tracking Technologies
Introductory lecture by Yana Dimova in room West Wing
Wednesday June 4th, 09:00 - 10:30
This talk will cover the privacy risks of web tracking technologies and how they are constantly evolving because of emerging privacy-preserving tools but also because of regulatory action and enforcement of privacy and data protection law.
Key takeaway: Emerging privacy-preserving tools can aid users in protecting their privacy on the web. However, a privacy by design mindset is the only way forward.
